BASKET WEAVING RETREAT WEEKEND FOR 2002!

Mark your calendars! January 25th, 26th and 27th for our Weaving Retreat 2002! It will be held at the conference center at Camp Choy Eh in Livingston Texas.
Cost for two nights lodging, three meals on Saturday and breakfast on Sunday morning is $108.00 per person. Weaving fee for the weekend is $40.00 excluding materials. Choose one or two baskets to work on from the list below or from the workshop page.
Kits will be available for some of the baskets offered. Kit prices and photo's of the baskets will be sent out in December to those who register for the retreat.
All registration forms must be received by December 15th. Checks for the lodging and meals must accompany the registration. Please check your calendars! There is no refund on the lodging and meals. Double Wall Herringbone Market Shaker Tureen Basket
The "Double Wall Herringbone Market" is a simple double wall basket. The base is a wooden Nantucket style base. The inside basket is a simple continuous twill weave. The outside basket is triple weave accented with a two tone herringbone design. The basket is finished with a unique braided border and carved round reed handle. The primary color in this basket is smoked. The accent color for the herringbone design can be rust, blue or green.
The "Shaker Tureen Basket" is a simple basket by design. You will learn unique shaping and base design. It is accented with a double lashed border in contrasting color. Your handles are attached with hand carved ears and wrapped with bleached cane.
Colonial Twill Carrier
The"Colonial Twill Carrier" is shaped like a traditional cat head. It is woven with a stepped up continuous twill weave and accented with an overlay of color.
Nantucket Twill Market Shaker Gathering Basket
The "Nantucket Twill Market" basket is woven on an oval Nantucket style base. The contrast with color is created by using smoked reed with natural reed for an accent. You will learn shaping and twill weave design.
The "Shaker Gathering Basket" is woven in the all time favorite cat head shape.The unique spoke layout offers a simple contrast in color. It is accented with a triple stacked rim. This is a great basket to learn shaping techniques.

We made new friends, wove long hours, gave away a few prizes and even had a whining contest! Who will wear the "Whining Pin" this year?
